The Sea, 2015

As a visual artist and printmaker, I create works that “document” the people, their memories, activities, interests, and surroundings that then memorialize and inform my personal life. I typically start a body of work with research, historical content, and imagery. This time, I began by writing my story and drawing my life. Inspired by my reality, I am still very attracted to the history of women, storytelling, and relatable situations, both mundane and stimulating. All of my work concentrates on communities of women in different societies that provoke and often break the rules considered “societal norms.”
